Sherlock Holmes - The Final Problem
Moriarty: “Once we’ve concluded our business here, it’s important you know I shall endeavor to find the most creative of endings for the doctor.”—Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Jim: “Okay. Let me give you a little extra incentive. Your friends will die if you don’t.”
Jim: “There’s no stopping them now. Unless my people see you jump.”—Sherlock 2x03 - “The Reichenbach Fall”
One of the things I appreciate about these adaptations of the canon is that they make implicit that Holmes faked his death in order to protect Watson. Fangirls have been saying it for years; these adaptations make it text.
I present you with the Russian Moriarty.
All I see is Jim Carey in A Series of Unfortunate Events
JIM CAREY FOR MORIARTY IN ELEMENTARY!
I THOUGHT THE SAME THING ABOUT JIM CAREY. YESSS. TICKLE MR. HOLMES OFF THE CLIFF, MORIARTY. TICKLE HIM.
No, don’t worry, I’ll be fine…keep making things like this.
and believe me to be, my dear fellow, very sincerely yours
Goddammit, BBC Sherlock fandom… #killingme
At some point I’m going to have a Reichenbach party. Probably when I’m feeling weepy to begin with. I will watch all the Reichenbach interpretations that I own. Then I’ll follow them up with a good dose of Empty House. Because I’m not, in fact, a masochist.
